Will it support Sapphire 7790 2 gig OC edition card

My CPU is an Athlon II x2 250 (3.0 GHz) processor.......memory is 2 GB (DDR 2 800Mhz) and the mother board is "ASUS M2N68 AM Plus" .........will this "old" board be able to run the "Sapphire 7790 2 GB OC edition" GPU i am looking to buy..... it says I need 4096 MB system memory on AMD's website......will it be really a factor????
If so.......will the 7770 1 GB Oc edition card (which AMD says needs only 1 gb system memory) be a better option at similar price range?

Need some thorough and quick advice.....

As long as your MB has a PCIe X16 slot (and yours does), the card will work fine. It doesn't matter how much system memory you have. The 2GB VRAM card would be preferred over the 1GB VRAM card if you game at 1920x1080 or more.
