Hello. I received this desktop for my birthday. I wanted to upgrade the video card so it can properly play new games like Bioshock Infinite.

What is the best graphics card that this computer can handle?
It only has a 300W power supply.

Also, if I upgrade the power supply, can I basically get any video card?
I'm completely new to this so I don't want to buy anything that won't work.

APUs are tricky little things, if you wanted to get a dedicated graphics card you need to see if it will be beneficial first.

Head to your bios (generally accessed during boot-up by pressing del or an f# key ex. f1, f2) from there you will need to locate an option to turn off on-board graphics or something along those lines.

Since this is a pre-built computer unless gateway releases hardware specs there is no way to know way what functionality you have.

Now while in that BIOS menu see if you can locate a crossfire option or something label along the lines of dual graphics etc.

If you can either turn off the on board graphics (disable the gpu portion of the APU) or cross-fire/ dual graphics. Then getting a card will be worth it.

For Bioshock Infinite I would suggest at least a radeon 7xxx series gpu. You will have to get a Radeon card if you have the cross-fire option/dual graphics sorry. But if you can disable then Nvidia is an option as well.

You can locate the wattage of cards on Newegg.com even if you do not buy from them its a great site because from my experience they give you the most information. Also find the wattage of your APU its right on AMD's website.

My guess is 85-110w generally what their APUs run at. Acquire this information and then post back and I can help you pick a card. As it stands there is not enough information to assist you in the best way possible.
