The 280X seems to compete mostly with the GTX 770, but I've seen conflicting results from different sources, as in which card is faster in a certain game at a certain resolution. I guess we have to take into account that the test systems are different, and it's not the same 280X vs. the same GTX 770.

If one was to be upgrading his video card in anticipation of BF4, which card would he go with? Specs below:

CPU: AMD FX 8350 @ stock 4ghz with stock cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
RAM: 32GB GSkill Sniper Series PC3-14900
HD: 2X Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
Video Card: EVGA nVidia GTX 660
Monitor: ACER 27" LED S271HL @1920 x 1080
Case: Antec Three Hundred
Powersupply: Antec Earthwatts 650wt

If BF4 is the only game you're playing, then the R9-280X for $300 is the way to go. If, like me, you're also looking forward to checking out the advanced PhysX effects in Call of Duty: Ghosts, then a GTX 760 or 770 are essential.
