Help with a GPU and PSU and little crash.

Hi everyone !
So basicly im looking into buying a Radeon HD 7850 and i was wondering if im in need of an new PSU. I currently have an 500w PSU and its not a good brand this is his model SL-500A. Oh and the last thing is when i was about to post this topic my pc crashed It had grey stripes veritcly placed. And i just replaced my HDD last week. Oh and i have 6gb or ram.

Change your PSU.Get one from a reputable brand like Corsair,Coolermaster,OCZ,Antec etc.

So the crashes are because off the PSU ? And how strong off an PSU should i get 600w or 500w ?

Probably yes.But do check RAM/GPU for errors as well
A quality 600W PSU should do the job fine for 7850

So i got my 7850 and got a OCZ 600w psu. I was wondering how does the high performance work ? Does it only need to be checkd in the amd catalyst ? Or does it activate it self when i enter a game.
