hey guys I'm planning on upgrading my gpu from a hd 7770 to a gtx 760, my cpu is an a8 3870k clocked at 3.2 ghz quad, I am planning on upgrading my cpu in the future but for now will the a8 and gtx 760 work nicely together? If there is a bottleneck I think it will be barely seen, let me know your thoughts, thanks.

More about : gtx 760 apu work alright

They'll work fine, but in games that need a more powerful CPU, the A8 will hold you back.

Just as ihog said, the A8 is not an optimal gaming cpu, it also lacks L3 cache. If I were you, I would spend that money on a cpu/mobo with preferably an Intel i5 that way you have your cpu needs relatively covered and are free to pursue a GPU upgrade later on.

Can you guys recommend me an i5 that would have me covered, I would say my price range now for a mobo and cpu is about 250, also if an i5 does end up being to much, would an fx 8320 8 core be alright for me If I just plan to game with this pc? thanks for the help guys

Just to be clear, you'll have to get a new mobo and CPU either way.

Also, I'd wait and save so that you can achieve a worthwhile upgrade.

what would be a worthwhile upgrade in your opinion? and also if games start recommending six cores and I have an i5 quad will I be left out performance wise? I'm not the clearest on the cpu subject haha

Do not worry about the AMD six-core requirement; the AMD needs more cores to achieve the same performance as an Intel i5. I would recommend something like this:
