MATRIX-HD7970 Platinum - Will it run?

Hi,

I have a ASUS Crosshair IV Formula with a Phenom 2 x6 1090T and now i want to upgrade the gfx-card from:

2 x AMD Radeon HD 6870
to a
ASUS Matrix-HD7970-Platinum

Will the card work good on this MoBo and with that CPU?
I have heard that new graphics cards font even use the full speed of PCIe x16 2.0/2.1...

It'll be fine if your power supply is sufficient and has 2 x 8pin pegs.

I have one more question: how can i find out if my MoBo or CPU bottlenecks my Graphics-Card? Do i need to run PC Mark Vantage or are there other tools?

You can use the latest After Burner beta's OSD. It has cpu monitoring... Unigine Valley/Heaven are good bench tools.

If the cpu is at 100% and the card runs less than 100% you have a bottleneck.

The 1090T is easy to OC being you have proper cooling though.
