can I put an am3+ processor into the am3 asrock k10n78fullhd-hsli motherboard

looking to upgrade my Athlon ll x4 630 processor with a fx 6300 which is am3+. My motherboard is am3 ready but does not say am3+. Is there a difference as I was looking at a phenom ll x 6 1100t black edition but they are so much more expensive.

yes you want to make sure you have a AM3+ you wouldnt want to short out the 6300 or your motherboard that would not be good.

AM3 means AM3, no AM3+ cpu's will work with your motherboard, you could probably upgrade to a Phenom II x4 or lower end x6 for a small to moderate difference in price when you sell your Athlon.
