Which graphics card for around 300€?

Hi,

after a year i decided to upgrade my graphics card and i saw some different types out there.
What i thought would fit in my budget (300€, i live in europe) best was either the amd hd 7970 (i saw the asus GHz version for 259€) or the upcoming amd r9 280x. considering nvidia i only found the gtx 760 (which i heard would perform less good, but it is cheaper too (gigabyte version for 216€)) and the gtx 770 but this was too expensive for me.
Could you give me an advise which card would be the best for my budget and which brand is recommended for it?
its main use will be for gaming.


My current setup
i5 3450
Asrock pro4/mvp
8 GB Ram 1333 MHz
Bequiet L7 530 watt (will this be enough for those cards?)
500 GB HDD
Windows 8 pro
1920 x 1080 display

Thanks! So you don't think the performance of the hd 7970 is worth the extra 40€?
Besides would the bequiet L7 530w be enough for either card?

No, I would go with the GTX 760. Well I did because I have one.
The choice is with you but I personally think generally, Nvidia make better cards.

Okay... i guess i'll wait for the r9 280x then if it is a better deal. Nvidia will probably drop prices of their cards then too. But the gtx 760 seems to fit well in my system. I'm still not sure if my psu would deliver enough power for high end cards and the gtx 760 obviously doesn't need as much power.

Huh, that's nice to hear and after hearing it i'm tending a bit to the hd 7970 cause i read it has almost the performance of a gtx 770 but it costs about 100€ less yet... the gtx 760 is nice also, but with this pricing the hd 7970 is preferable am i right?
Sorry for those questions but i'm not experienced in this area.

Is this true? Cause amd will be built in next gen consoles and i also see that battlefield 4 is partnering with amd.
though i see superior results for the gtx 760 at amazon i thought the actual prices for the hd 7970 were more performance for the price.. do you know if assassins creed 4 will be bundled with either nvidia or amd? Cause this would be nice. As far as i understood i cant do wrong with any of them so this would end up with either prices or the games they are bundled with. :)

Well, at the moment most games are with Nvidia but with the upcoming titles such as BF4 going with AMD and the consoles going with AMD, we may see more games optimized for AMD.
The choice is with you.

I think you noticed that I tend for hd 7970 but that's just due to no real compitition at ~300€ from nvidia.
I'll probably go for the gtx 760 though and a ssd.
I guess i just need to get straight now, so thank you! I really appreciate your help!

I decided to go for a Gigabyte GTX 770 due to a good price which kept me below my 300€.
So my last question is will my PSU be enough?
