Which would be better for triple monitor 1080P max settings, also somewhat lasting for the next year or two.

Triple 770 4GB Classified ACX or

Dual 780 3GB Classified ACX

These will be on a Black Edition RIVE

The price difference is about $100 more for the 770s so just curious what would you pick?

I would say the 3 770s are a bit over kill. The two 780s are going to be really expensive. If I had the money to spend on two 780s I would personally buy a titan. Two 770s would be more than enough though.

Yes I thought about the titan... but I am not sure one titan would max a triple 1080p on all games.. I have a $1500 budget for my GPU's. I would prefer to get something that will last for two-three years until 4k becomes more a reality.

Honestly, two ghz edition 7970s would max almost any game across three 1080p monitors and you would have money left over. But if you don't mind spending the cash, the 780s would be the way to go. Or you could wait to see the specs and benchmarks on the new amd r290x, its supposed to be as fast or faster than the titan and its priced around the same as the 780.

3-way SLI 770s aren't overkill at 5760x1080, CF 7970s are need to max some games on a single 1080p monitor. Would definitely go for the 4GB 770 3-way over the 780 SLI, you need all the VRAM you can get, as well as all the raw processing power you can get. And multiple 7970s are out of the question on Eyefinity right now, it just doesn't work in Crossfire.
