Hi guys , yesterday I bought r9280X matrix platinum , and i have one question .

My temperatures are (IN CELCIUS) , ambient temperature 25-27C : res. 1980x1080

Idle - 46-53 C
Gaming - 66-72 C in bf4 ultra
FULL LOAD - 80 C in furmark

All of those with stock .

As for gaming and Furmark I can agree that is pretty much normal , but I`m worried about IDLE , on reference 5870 it used to be around 35 C , now it is much more , Could you advise me please what I can do besides setting up fans bit higher ?

Ypour the first person I've seen with an R 280x, so hard to say if that is normal temps or not. lol. Nobody has them yet, so hard to draw a baseline.

I think you can compare it with 7970 GHZ edition ,

As the 280x is virtually identical to the 7970 Ghz you should be fine up to 90C.

Just make sure that your fan profile is up to spec (use MSI afterburner custom profiles)

I`m comparing it with my 5870 which was a lot cooler than this one , so there is my question if it is normal.

Obvious: Check the fan/s are spinning ;)  just because it's new doesn't make it perfect :( .
All the reviews I've seen point to lower idle temperatures but as long as it's temperature is good under load I would not worry excessively-it's probably down the fan profile being set to very low RPM at idle to keep the noise down.
As has been suggested, you can set a custom fan profile in Afterburner.
If you are concerned, contact support or consider an RMA.

You can't compare it to a 5870, different beasts all together. That's like says my Neon runs coolers than my Charger. Well v4 vs v8 might have something to do with it.

Them idle temps are perfectly normal for the 7970, which is the same gpu.

I`m sorry for wasting your time , problem was that 2nd screen prevent GPU from cutting memories Mhz , so even in idle it was 1600 mhz , when i switched 2nd screen off IDLE temp = 28-32C

Gaming and full load temps are also a bit lower : Gaming 60-66 , Kombustor 73-75 C
