can anyone answer this just got 2 sticks of 1gb each but when i plug sticks in pc wont work

No, its all plug and play, but you need to make sure the memory you are installing is of the specifications mentioned by the manufacturer.

If they are correct, then try installing one memory at a time and see if it boots successful.
