I've just moved and currently have no landline and therefore no dedicated personal internet access. I have been using a BT hotspot which i can access from ground level sat in my car outside my building, but coverage doesn't extend as far as my basement flat. Is there any sort of signal "grabber" available ? (rather than the signal boosters generally available which will boost your own wi-fi router signal) .
Or any other ideas for cheap access appreciated :-)

Hi, I used to use a usb adapter to reach a guest house next door that was 150 meters away. These claim to allow kilometers but seem to be a real pain to set up in Windows 7. If you had an existing antenna, then the absolute cheapest would be to use a online how-to, to make your own parabolic trough antenna. Hope that helps. I'm sure if you searched or could wait for an item to ship from china, you could find one of these usb antennas dirt cheap.
