The user has no control over the SSD portion of the drive.
The Drive is a normal harddrive and could be 5400rpm or 7200rpm, depending on the model, with normal cache. The SSD portion is used as a read-cache to store copies of your frequently accessed files. It is typically only 4 or 8gb in size.
