I went so far as to order an X51 R2 from dell/alienware, but they delayed my order, because of some glitch with my already approved Dell credit. I have great credit, but after several emails and a couple of long wait times on the phone, I canceled my order and drove to MicroCenter.
Yes, my self assembled computer took me all day, and it wouldn't start. So, the next day I took it half apart and found that I had used the wrong power cord for my PCU. Fixed that and now I have a much better computer than the X51 at much less the cost. i7 46770K with copper piped heat sink, super quiet gigabyte gtx 760 GDDR5 oc version, a samson 840 pro sdd, on an nice z87 full sized board with 750 power pack- all in a nice quiet mid sized case. I bought windows 7 and still came in at $400 less than the intel I7 with 760 gtx 760 2 gig configuration I thought I was going to buy from Dell.
