R7 260x Crossfire or R9 280x

I was recently looking at the new line up of AMD cards, and I saw that the new 280x cards are pretty damn nice, but I saw the R7 260x, and the core speed was actually better (looking at the sapphire editions), and half the price. I don't know much about gpus, but I was wondering, would it be better to buy 2 R7 260xs and crossfire, or to buy one 280x. It seems the 280x may have better cooling, and the 260xs may have a disadvantage in areas I don't know about. So, for around the same price, which would be the better choice?
