Today I changes from FX 4100 (clocked to 4.3ghz) to FX 8350 4ghz at stock.. strange thing i discided to overclock it but i dont know why i tried to test it on stock 4ghz and stock voltages (1.39vcore) and it doesnt lasts more than 5 seconds and PC freezes.. (Testing with Prime95 windows 8)
What do you think could be the problem.. I dont think its voltage cauce i pushed it to 1.5vcore at 4.4ghz and again not even 5 seconds... After ever restart i have to unplug my power cable for 3-4 seconds or my monitor isnt showing anything..
MOBO: Asrock 880 U3S3
Pro: AMD FX 8350
8gh Adata 1333 RAM
GTX 770 Jetstream 4gb
620w Seasonic power supply
are you monitoring your temps any?
That mobo probably doesn't have enough VRM strength to push 8350 very high..
AND you have a small power supply and large video card + high tdp CPU..
I'm voting for mobo as #1 problem..for now..
yep..4+1 phase..no sinks on VRMs..it's the mobo.Hold your finger on the flat chips above those 5 cube boxes (chokes) while under load.
Temp never go over 40c !
28c at idle.. im with cooler master hyper 212 cooler so temps are fine.. i was thinking about the MOBO too... whst should i do?...
Im not really into MOBO selection.. tell me what should i look for when buying one? specially for 8350 ? For a good overclock
