You need soundmax integrated digital audio drivers!

Download the drivers from dell's web site, assuming they have win7 drivers. You should always check for drivers before installing/upgrading an OS.

Hi there,

You can 100% get the sound drivers to work with a Dell GX620 on Windows 7 - I load these all day long :)

You shouldn't need to download them from Dell either, Windows Update should take care of this for you. Go to Device Manager, double click the Sound Device and then "Update Driver". If it throws back an error seconds into searching - it means the Windows Driver Update is switched off - Right Click on Computer and select Properties. Down the left side click on "Advanced System Settings" and then click the tab called "Hardware". Now click on Device Installation Setting and make sure it is set to "ON". If you do this then Windows will start automatically installing the sound driver for you.

Hope this helps.
