Help me with an honest opinion. 730$ gaming pc

Hello everyone, I'll be buying a new pc soon, and I want your opinions on it.
I'll use it mostly for gaming, but I don't mind not having ultra high settings.
I have two options on the CPU and GPU:

CPU: AMD A8-6500 or i5-3340
GPU: GT 640 or Radeon HD 7790
RAM: 8 gigs
1TB SATA storage
550w power source

So my questions are:
Which CPU and GPU should I choose?
Is this a decent build for gaming?

(sorry for not mentioning other components, I'm not so good with hardware.)

Go with the i5 and 7790, the 7790 should be more than twice as fast as the 640.
