how can i change my laptop resolution into 1280x960 on my ph pavilion g series?

i can see only altered image on my tv screen connection thru vga..and in my setting i do not have a 1280x960 resolution...anyone ...please help me...many thks sergiu

What display mode are you using? Clone or split? If order to have different resolutions on the TV and the laptop screen, you need to split the displays so they show different things. Then it should give you an option for more resolutions for the TV. If not, and your TV is that resolution, you can go to the video options and select "show modes my display may not support" or something similar.
