I am in the market for an iMac that I will use primarily for video editing. I came across two different preowned models...

    2010 27" 2.8 GHZ Intel Core i7
    8GB 1067MHz DDR3 RAM
    ATI Radeon HD 5750 MB
    $1100

    2011 27" 3.4 GHZ Intel Core i7
    8GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
    $1500

Is there that large of a difference in the 3.4 ghz / AMD Radeon 6970M model to warrant spending the extra $400?

The 2011 model should do everything a little bit faster, if not moderately. The 2011 model also has a much better GPU for gaming (if you game this will be good) and probably general compute power if you use GPU accelerated programs. The RAM is also faster, giving a very small speed increase. (By very small, I mean absolutely tiny and probably unnoticeable to the eye.) The CPU is also marginally better. You'll probably find the 2011 is worth the extra money, especially when the GPU is being used to it's full potential (gaming or some other application use).
