Good build but change the DRAM to a single set, no guarantee two single sticks will play together, a single package will have sticks tested to play together and XMP will work (it's programmed by the package)

I was wondering about that cause one stick came in a combo from newegg so I thought "hey I dont need more than 8gb anyways so lets save some cash" But now you have entered doubt into the equation. Time to think about low CAS Timings at 1866mhz.

While not a good idea to mix sticks like that, if you decide to go that way and there is a problem, give me a shout, getting sticks to play is sort of a specialty of mine, be happy to help, have worked with these particular sticks a number of times

Im thinking about it if I decide to go that way I will hit you up, I want to try and keep my frequency the same in my ram but reduce the cas timings as much as possible

Low CAs to freq is always good, but keep in mind with todays freqs (up to 3000+) CAS goes up proportionately, i.e. performance sticks are considered

Hi Adam,

I like the build except for the case, purely because I don't know much about it - and can't find any proper reviews on the internet about it. By the way, I have that motherboard and processor. As sick as that mobo it is, you may run into a minor issue if you intend on running RAID. That motherboard has 4x 6Gb/s SATA ports, however, the catch is that you can only use 2 of them if you want to run RAID. There is a onboard RAID controller for the top two 6 Gb/s SATA ports and another RAID controller for the two 6Gb/s AS_Media ports, and when you run RAID (I use RAID 1) the AS_Media ports are disabled. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way, so I love the mobo except for that shitty feature.

I understand your concern, but I picked it purely because I read review off newegg and I didn't see anybody say anything about problems with cable management, or being cramped, and since I wanted make my computer have an electric green theme anyways it fit right in.

Now the RAID while not exactly an issue it does worry me, Just because I could grab a second SSD later and run it in RAID and improve speed even more, that being said it wasn't enough to deter me and I ordered the motherboard this morning.

Will do. I am going to buy some of the parts little by little until tax time then do a big buy. I am a full time student so on top of my usual tax return, plus $2500 credit.
