Hello fellow gamers :)

Im running two HD 7970 in crossfire with an 850w powersupply, i have an AMD FX-6100 but want to upgrade to AMD FX-9590.
My question is, Will 850w powersupply be enough for two HD7970 and the AMD FX-9590?
This is my gaming setup as its going to be

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, Socket-AM3+
HD7970 Crossfire
Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 16gb
Samsung SSD 128gb
Two 7200 rpm disc, not sure what kind
No light or extra fans in the cabin ;)

No that won't be enough, two 7970s will probably bring your build just under 1000w. I would suggest this PSU as it is a Tier 1 PSU and will give you what you need.

Also, if you don't already have one, I would suggest a liquid cooler. That 9590 is fast but boy does it get HOT.

Measured power consumption
1.System in IDLE = 163W
2.System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 355W
3.Difference (GPU load) = 192W
4.Add average IDLE wattage ~3W
5.Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 195 Watts

•Radeon HD 7970 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
•Radeon HD 7970 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

Maximum TDP is approx. 220W : http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series%2...

I think a 1000W PSU is required for that setup, with some power to spare.

I see, well i guess one 7970 have to hold for a while. maybe if i upgrade to AMD FX-8350 8-Core Processor 850w will be enough with 7970 crossfire?

No, that means you will leave 25w for the rest of your components. In any computer you want breathing room.

I am afraid your PSU is not good enough for the components you mentioned.
Try a better PSU. Your PSU is not even in the list of rated PSU, so be careful it could destroy all your expensive components.
Here is a TIER list of PSU's : http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx
