Overclocking an FX-4100

If I were to over-clock my fx 4100 to about 4.5 - 5GHz what water cooler would I need? I'm not sure if I can on my motherboard but I have done small multiplier over-clocks to it before to 4GHz with the stock fan. I'm new to over-clocking and would appreciate any advice as well.

current specs:

motherboard: gigabyte M68MT-S2
memory: single channel 4gb 1333MHz
GPU: Radeon HD4850
CPU: FX-4100 3.6 GHz
PSU: 750W 80 bronze certified

the biggest fan space I have on my case is one 120mm

try a hyper 212 evo cheap and effective but if you want the best oc and low temps you need some water cooling

Unless I am looking at the wrong motherboard, I think that motherboard has a 3+1 phase VRM. If I remember correctly, I think a lot of people recommend at least 6? Long story short, be careful.

However, I can tell you that you should be able to hit at least 4.6ghz on Air cooling, and it should take an average effort to obtain. Beyond that is going to be tricky, because it will depend on your "silicon gamble" and what you managed draw - good or bad. I have managed to get up to 4.8 ghz, with still acceptable temperatures (I think they topped off at 58C?), but the voltages were too high for my liking. I am using an FX-4170, which is just a factory overclocked FX-4100, and I am also using an Enermax ETS-T40-TB, which is roughly on-par with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

not much more? thats twice as much and the hyper evo will keep very low temps
