Hey this will be my first build. 100% for gaming but on a $1200 budget. Just wondering what you would do different, add, remove, etc. Also is it worth it for liquid cooling or heat pipes? I don't intend to over clock but I do want the option.

You've got a solid build. In my opinion though, I would change a few things.

Liquid cooling is only worth it if you're heavily overclocking and have really REALLY high-end parts. If you don't intend to overclock, you don't need to get a K (unlocked) processor. Just get a 3570 instead and save yourself about twenty bucks.

Up your power supply to a 700W or 750W, this is to provide extra headroom for your system's power load and also just in case you want to add an extra video card someday.

I would also change that WD Caviar Blue to a Caviar Black, as the Black would provide extra performance.

Finally, since you're still well within your budget, you should invest in an SSD for your Operating System and frequently used programs/games/etc. A 128GB one will do the trick. This way, you can store everything else on the HDD as well as have extra drive space.

I've got one more thing to say that's more of an opinion than a suggestion, but instead of buying a 7950 you can get a 660 Ti. Usually they're slightly cheaper and perform slightly better than the 7950 but maybe I'm just biased towards using Nvidia. Good luck with your build!

Thanks, yeah I had an SSD up there at first but removed it because the prices kept changing a lot so I wasn't sure on which to get. Also, I'm skeptical about over-clocking because I don't want to put a $1000 rig in danger. Would over clocking in the future when my good specs turn to "ok" make a difference? If not would upgrading to the 4th gen i7 be smarter in the long run.

Other than that I pretty much agree with everything. I get so many mixed reviews between 7950 vs 660ti. I love nvidia also but price is my only issue. I wish I could get the 770
