Help! My AMD FX-8150 CPU fan is screaming at 6000 RPM while CPU usage hovers at 15%.

I'm using the "SpeedFan" utility to monitor my system. It reports that the CPU temperature is hovering around 50 degrees as the CPU fan speed hovers around 6000 RPM.

What could be going wrong? Isn't 50 degrees a safe temperature for a CPU?

stock fans are always loud because of the small size, speed ,and it does a poor job at cooling you cpu to boot if you want it quieter get a new aftermarket heat sync and fan. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo will do wonder's for you it's cheap and easy, or if you can afford it get a liquid cooling kit also very easy to put on.

As long as you dont hit over 70c you are fine on temps. Stock AMD coolers are complete garbage anyway. My cooler, the same as that one, ran at 6k rpms at the same temps. I would say get an Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. Great cooler, lowered my temps 20-30c and lowered RPMS by 4k.
