8GB installed and 4GB Hardware reserved. Please Help.

I have the Asus M5A97 board with AMD FX 6100 sixcore with 2X4 4GB Patriot DDR3-2133Mhz. Bios only shows 4GB running at 1600Mhz. Tried bumping to 2133 in bios and fails.Have tried single slot with one stick and both sticks work. Max Memory not set. Please help. I need the memory to run virtual labs for my CCNA and classes.

Might try them at 1866 or 1600, very few 8350s even can run 2133 and tighten timings to compensate for the change, if any problem give me the actual model # of the sticks

Patriot Viper 3 black mamba 2x4GB DDR3-2133Mhz PV38G213C1K. Board is compatible and says will run 2133(O.C.).

What it says is all well and good, but it's what the CPU can run, no sense in paying a premium for 2133 if the CPU can only run 1600 or 1866, Right?

i just rechecked the memory support for the chip and it says 1866. the board can run all. why will it not let me set at 1866 and both show up?

Try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.06 and the CPU/NB voltage 0.10, while AMD 'advertises' the FX CPUs at 1866, it's primarily the 8120 and above they are talking about, a lot of their advertising is rather mis-informative, originally they advertised the FX CPUs as having a native 1866 memory controller, which is false and I and a number of others pointed it out to them in their own BIOS and Kernel Programming Guide, it was only then that they put out the freq guide saying UP TO 1866 AT 1 DIMM PER CHANNEL

what is the best way for me to get into bios and tweak things. The EUFI that is on the board as default will not let me in to change those specifics.
