I know you want an I5 but I highly recommend getting the AMD FX-6000 series. They will give you what you want for a price around that.
Yeah well I do was going for a 6300 but my dad wanted me to get an Intel for the lower power consumption :/
If this system is going to be running 24/7 at load, then power consumption will possibly matter. If it is going to be sitting idle or shut off when not in use, power consumption between the two doesn't really affect anything. I did the power consumption thing back in the core 2 days. I went from a very hot X3210 Kentsfield quad to a Wolfdale E8190. I saw 0 benefit on my power bill. At idle, an FX 6350 uses a mere 17w more than a 3570k. The difference in gaming is a higher 75w, but really how many hours in the day are you going to spend gaming? If you absolutely must have an i5, your best option is probably Ebay.
