New Graphics Card for 1440p Gaming

I will be getting a Dell 1440p monitor soon and I want to get a new graphics card for playing Battlefield 4 on Ultra at 60 fps. I also have two 1080 monitors that I use, but I will be gaming on the 1440 monitor.
My budget is around $600, I'm open to either Nvidia or AMD. From what I have seen one GTX 770 or R9 280x doesn't look like it is enough, would I need to get an SLI or CrossFire? If I need a multi-card system would my 750w PSU be enough power or would I need a bigger one?

Might look at Asus's 780 or the new 290X with the CU cooling, may be your best single card option
