Switch the V-Sync setting to the opposite one.(On to Off or vice versa). If that doesn't work then update your drivers.

all of my drivers are updated i even tried installing the beta drivers for nvidia but it still did nothing, I'm thinking it might be my monitor. I'm using a adapter (VGA to DVI). the monitor is very old. could this be the problem

Go to the website of the video card (Nvidia would be Nvidia.com) and install the latest driver. It will let you know if you have it already.

Also you should replace the thermal paste on your processor and vid card with AC5 thermal paste.

+ Get the Optifine Mod. You can set Autosave to 3 minutes or 30 minutes to get you better preformance.

You don't need it if you got it less than 6 months ago. You could do a quick checkup on your computer like check for errors hardware, software, drivers etc.

Also list full specs of your computer on this page or in your signature.

Try opening your computer and seeing if everything is connected (TURN OFF EVERYTHING AND UNPLUG PSU FIRST) And check for bad cable management. Basically you should make it neat.

Your monitor could be the problem because old monitors have slow response times. Try lowering the resolution or try windowed mode.

Wow no offense but that monitor sucks. You should still check your motherboard and see if your video card is in the right slot. The manual shows you the proper slot and on most motherboards there is 1 3.0 connector and 2.0 connector. You want your vid card in the 3.0. And again you should try windowed mode.

This isn't disassembling it. This is taking the side panel of the case off and looking inside. BTW what is your Motherboard? the manual shows the location of everything and you need to look in and see that the video card is in the PCI 3.0 slot. If it isn't it's as simple as taking it out and putting it in the right place. Don't use force though.
