so my friend was customizing an ibuypower revolt then he notice it cant run big games like far cry 3 but can handle battlefield 3 at medium settings

How can he make it so he can run big games (his budget is under 1000 and it starts $549)

I'm not a gamer but from a look at the basic specs I would upgrade the power supply to a 500W PSU and choose a good graphics card. Take a look at the specs for the games he would like to run and that may help (look at recommended and ignore the minimum).

ok you will definitely want to get a graphics card I would recommend the gtx 650i also upgrade power supply and get some better cpu cooling, maybe the first option if you have spare money just get a better graphics card
