best 27" monitor under £500?

Hi

I am looking to purchase a new monitor, looking at a 27" screen with full HD Capability for a mixture of gaming and viewing films etc. I had ordered a U2711 after reading some reviews but it was dead on arrival, and I cant seem to find another at the same price (£430) so now need an alternative under £500!

Get the dell u2713hm. it's the newer version of the u2711. It has a less invasive anti glare coating but only 8bit opposed to the older model's 10 bit colours. It also uses LED backlighting. The better anti glare coating and backlighting make colours look better than the u2711. I've had both and whites looked "dirty" on the u2711. You can get it on sale too for the same price as the u2711, i got mine for $600 Canadian including tax and shipping.

How do the Asus and the Dell compare? and excuse my numptiness for asking, but what difference will I see in 10 bit and 8 bit?

And how will either compare to my current monitor, a Samsung synchmaster T220? apart from being bigger?
