Hi!
Here's my current set up -
i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz
8GB DDR3-1333 memory
OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD
2TB Western Digital 5400rpm HDD
Blu-ray disk drive
MSI Z77A-G45
2x 2GB EVGA Geforce GTX 660 Ti in SLI
Hauppauge DVB-T USB TV Tuner
Corsair CX750 750w PSU
Zalman Z11 Plus case (Soon to be a Coolermaster HAF X Nvidia Case!)

I need a new cooler for my PC as I'm building a rig that I want to LOOK awesome..
Problem is, this month's budget is already gone, and I have £20 to spare.
That's also sort of ideal though because I dont have a 2600k, just a non OC 2600, so it won't ever reach huge temps, the stock cooler currently keeps it under 50c at full load!

Heres why I want to change it - http://i.imgur.com/abmmRTR.jpg
It's wonky and real ugly!
Ignore the mess of the PC, I have bought lots of cable management equipment and when I get my new, better case, it'll be much better!

Anyway, I need a 1155 socket cooler and I'll also need some thermal compound as I don't have any right now.

Any recommendations? It doesn't need to be the best!

Thank you!

Hyper 212 EVO is the best budget cooler out there, it is very effective for the price and I think it looks pretty sick ;) Just make sure you don't forget to also buy thermal paste (anything will do, just get a recognized brand like arctic silver).

Also, if your biggest concern is appearance, be sure to look this cooler up on Google images/YouTube because the Newegg pictures don't do it justice... is really big and awesome!

Yeah that does have a lot of good reviews, problem is, on Scan.co.uk it's just a little out of my budget, hopefully I can scrape a few £s from somewhere though...

Any idea what thermal compound to get from these? - http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/coolers-air/cpu-thermal-paste-pads

I've never bought one before, but the cheapest option would be good!

I JUST posted that haha! But the 212 seems to have a lot more reviews and seems more popular, would that be a better buy, it's only a few £s over my budget, and it comes with Thermal Grease so it's not compulsory that I buy it separately?

So, shall I go for the 212 EVO, i mean, it's only about £3 over my budget, I can do some extra chores for that haha!

If you are not overclocking there's no real need to spend extra for the 212 EVO over the Hyper TX3. If the reviews for the TX3 do not seem to be very good in your opinion or you simply like how the 212 EVO looks, then sure go for the EVO. I'm sure you can think of things to do with that extra £ you save by going with the TX3. You don't have to spend the extra £. You could simply save it to buy do other things later.

I bought the 212 EVO for the extra couple of £, it wasn't a huge difference in money and it seemed more popular and I might OC in the future without having to spend £25 on a new cooler. So instead I spend £10 and I won't have to change if I ever change my mind!

My biggest problem with CPU Coolers is the installation, the only time I've ever touched a processor, I screwed up the pins on the motherboard, but that's because I was screwing around, trying to put the cover on!
I'm fine with the whole computer, but I'm not so confident with CPU coolers and stuff like that, never done it before :p

You can't go wrong with that cooler it's still really cheap and cools your CPU down a lot compared to the money spent and must importantly.... It looks awesome ;) Feel free to mark my hyper 212 evo post as answer! Let me know if you have any installation questions! (Although that was a while ago you probably got it installed by now haha)
