USES

1.Illustrator / Photoshop design work ( rendering, vector, etc. )
2.While simultaneously heavy tabbed browsing

I would like support for up to 3 monitors. And as many USB 3.0 ports as humanly possible.

* If it matters there will be virtually no gaming.

BUDGET
Under $2500 USD if possible. Does not include software / peripherals. That stuff will be out of a different budget. And if there is a good reason I could go a bit over $2500.

QUESTIONS

1st. Will I notice a difference with the below processor / mobo as compared to say i7-4770k with MSI Z87-G45 ? I do not have a problem spending the little extra if there is a real benefit for the type of work that I do.

2nd. I need help choosing a graphics card(s). Don't really even know where to start.
* I have also not picked out a power supply as I am assuming that will depend on what I do for a graphics card.

And I suppose if anyone wants to recommend a good case while you are at it that would be cool too.

Thanks for your input.

That is exactly what I was looking to find out for question #1, will I be able to see a noticeable difference between the 2 processors.

I appreciate your time.

Well, if money is not a problem then the 3930k will be the faster option. However, like I said, there will not be a "big" noticeable difference that you can actually see between the 3930k and the 4770k. Also, the i7-4770k has a way better price/performance ratio compared to the 3930k (major selling point for me).

Bottom line: the i7-4770k will work perfect for what you are doing.

So here is an updated build. I suppose I am mainly looking for opinions / recommendations for graphics cards.

It did have a note about the RAM though. Would this be an issue / should I go for lower RAM voltage?

G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

I would also like to add that I am by no means tied to the above parts / build. I am open to anything.

Just looking for the best build I can, though replacing a 4 year old Dell I suppose any build is better. But still, who doesn't want the most for their money?

You really need to know this before buy. I m using my 3930k now.
But what softwares are you using?

Here is the deal.
pic_disp.php

Id go for 4930k build.
Memory you can save. But you most likely use programs that will use lots of memory. But sure you try if 16GB is enough. If you do video editing you need 32GB or more. This is bit over the budget but it is really worth it.

Id go bit more HDD and SSD. 2 256GB SSD to raid 0 + 2-3 HDD's

Blacks you really do not need. They are not any faster than barracudas. They just make noise and are expensive.
Buy WD Blue or Seagate barracuda. The reliability is same level.

Couple better cpu coolers.

This means better OC and silent working pc.
