Format C drive with external drive?

Hi all, im selling a pc on ebay but im struggling to format the hard drive.

The pc has no cd rom or fdd, all i have is a external drive and a laptop. IS there anyway i can format the pc hard drive? Been trying for hours!

I assume you want to remove Windows from it, but it's not going to be very saleable with no OS on it, and no means of installing the OS either. I certainly wouldn't buy it with no floppy, no CD drive, and no OS.

But if you definitely want to erase the entire drive contents, you can put put the drive into an external enclosure, plug the enclosure into a USB port on another computer and format the drive in Windows Explorer.

Im selling for the parts inside which is high spec, not the OS (its selling over reserved). I dont have an enclosure so doesnt really help. I was trying to work out how to create a boot disk from a usb disk. cheers
