Nvidia Surround With Different Monitors

Well, I'm currently running three of these monitors.

My question is can I get one of these 144Hz monitors and place it in the middle of the two others, and only run games on the middle monitor?

Yes, you could do that.

However you would no longer be able to run Nvidia surround (unless you set the 144 Hz monitor to operate at 60 Hz). For surround you need matching resolution and refresh rate.

So, it would just be like having 3 separate monitors?

You can still do windows desktop extension to the other two monitors. And during gaming obviously only the middle monitor would display the game; you would not be able to run the game at 5760x1080.

At this point it's very subjective. If you care more about 120 Hz gaming then go for it. It is kind of a shame to let your other two monitors go to waste but only you can decide if it is worth it.

If you don't care that much about 120 Hz or you care more about triple-surround gaming then keep your current setup.
