curious about fx8350 temps

I was just curious what the max temperature should be for my AMD FX-8350 ? I was told about 63c, which it is usually about 60 while gaming at 75% or lower fan speed. but what about when i try to render a video ? it's hit as high as 73 degrees, would that be safe ? i've also done it more then once, and nothing has seemed to happen, no throttling or anything. i am also using the stock cpu fan that comes with it.

Download Coretemp, it should tell you the TJmax, which is the maximum temperature the cores can operate till

thank you ! i downloaded it, and the TJMax was 80°c, hopefully the program is completely accurate

What's odd to me is this suggests it's 90 :S

If you get worried, you could always get an aftermarket cooler (or reduce overclock if you already have one)

no overclock, but i'm working on getting an aftermarket cooler, the cooler master hyper 212 evo, and a few corsair air series sp120's. but for the moment i'm stuck with the stock fan.

although i do think that CoreTemp is giving me false temperatures. According to MSI Control Centre my cpu temperature is currently idling at 50°c, but CoreTemp is giving me 30°c

That would probably be messier lols, CPU temp is shown hotter in bios readings, possibly due to some load

Generally they say readings get more accurate as they start approaching TJmax

well in bios the last time i was adjusting settings, it was about 60°c under the load, and when i'm putting load on it, while playing a game or such, it's about that. anyway. thanks for all the help

yeah i know, i'm just a little worried is all, because i just recently built this pc, still in the process of building it. and i don't want to have to rebuy the CPU again.

Since gaming doesn't make it go under a full load like prime95 or some other heavy stuff, you can play games without a worry hehe
