Is this a good next gen PC Build?

CPU: Intel i7 4770k at 3.5 GHz
GPU: Asus Matrix R9 280x
PSU: 620W Cooler Master Silent Pro M2
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Silent ATX Mid Tower Case
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150
Ram: Patriot Viper 3 8gb DDR3 1866 Memory
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper N520
OS: Windows 8 64-bit

So you're looking at a budget of around $1250 for a gaming pc?

That's a decent build, but too much processor for the video card you have. A 4670k won't bottleneck a 280x and with the money you save you can get a good ssd which will offer much more performance improvement. Also, 1866 won't give a noticeable benefit over 1600 so you can save a few bucks there.

So a smaller cache wont effect anything if i'm going to be gaming?

Using a 7970 GHZ (same as 280X) you can expect about 1 fps difference in BF3. Definitely not worth $100.

If you can find one for under $300 then go for it, it's basically the same card as the 280X.

So do you think the ASUS Matrix R9 280x is good for the price, or should i go with the $300 MSI card. Also i know the Asus card will fit lengthwise but its a very thick card do you think that will have an effect on how it fits into my case?

It will fit fine, will take up 1 pcie slot and with the cooler it will take up 2 spaces on your case. Both cards are good for the price, I think the asus matrix is a binned card so it will perform more reliably on overclock, which to me seems like a better choice for you since it comes like that from the factory.

Ok thanks again, I just changed my cpu to the i5 4670k and i changed the ram to 1600 instead, just one more question. Do you think ill have room for a wireless adapter. sorry...

Yes, I use a USB 3.0 wifi adapter but you have 4 pci x1 slots on your mobo so you have plenty of options.
