Hello: does anyone here use an alternative to dropbox, and if so, how well does it work. We have a client who has a file to upload & download with us. She doesn't do this very often. In fact the last time was when she used Pando a few years ago. Pando is gone. The client doesn't trust the security of dropbox. Box.com is a known, still existing alternative. Are there others, that you've used (not just that you've heard about)? Thank you.

I haven't used it personally but I have a client who uses SpiderOak - https://spideroak.com

Data is fully encrypted at all times and they have a “zero-knowledge” privacy policy which means not even SpiderOak staff can access your data. The only way to decrypt your data is with the password which is also fully encrypted before transmission so SpiderOak have no record of it.

This privacy policy brings one of the few downsides - forget your password and your data is inaccessible because as I said, nobody can access your data without it. SpiderOak can't even reset it.

Anyways... You can get 2GB of storage for free so it's worth taking a look. Anything more than 2GB and it gets a bit expensive for something you won't be using very often.

Skydrive or google drive are good solutions too.
