First time build for audio engineering and video editing use. Looking for confirmation of compatibility of parts.

Hey there. I'm attempting my first build for use on audio engineering and video editing. It may become fairly obvious that I'm not really sure what I am doing. I've read a lot of review online and am at the final stage of getting the go ahead from some people who actually know what they're talking about. Here is my parts list:
cpu: Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K

motherboard: AS Rock LGA1155 Intel Z77 CrossFireX SATA3 USB3.0 A GbE ATX Z77 PRO4

RAM:Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

graphics card: MSI NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 2GB GDDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card N620GT-MD2GD3/LP

HDD WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache - WD10EZEX

SSD: SanDisk Ultra Plus SSD 128 GB SATA 6.0 Gbps 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SDSSDHP-128G-G25

power supply: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600)

This is everything excluding the case. I believe all of this is compatible and will make for a speedy reliable PC. Am I correct? Please use layman's terms if possible, like I said, this is all very new language for me.

Your parts are compatible, no problem there. That's a pretty low end graphics card, so I'd recommend something a little better, especially if you're using Adobe suite for video editing.

Do you have the cash to go with an i7? That would be a major boost for video editing.

You'll definitely want to get 2 sticks of RAM so you can take advantage of dual channel memory slots on that board. So if you're going for 8GB of RAM, get 2x4GB sticks (i.e. vengeance: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345). If you want to save a few bucks, I highly recommend this Kingston RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104344.
You also might think about making that 16GB, particularly for your rendering, etc.

Also, although not necessary, you might think about getting an aftermarket cooler for your CPU, stock ones suck. And if you're going to be doing a lot of audio and want better quality, would recommend a discrete sound card (this one's a bit pricey, but you get the idea: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102033)
