Is a $300 graphics card really worth the money?

Is the there really really that big of a difference between the R9 280X and say a GTX 660. I know the stats say so but to the naked eye is there a huge improvement. I have never spent $300 dollars on a graphics card and am worried there is not that big of difference for the price. Let me know experiences and what you think. Thanks

If you have already the GTX 660 I would say that you don`t need to upgrade it, it is still a very good GPU. The R9 280x is around 30% faster than the GTX 660 and the price performance ratio is better in general, at least for me.

No I do not have a GTX 660. I am contemplating how nice of a graphics card to get for my next build. The R9 280X is alot more future proof.

Yes, it will hold longer because of the higher performance and newer technology and the prices of the new AMD cards are reasonable.
