I built a new computer and my usb microphone is produces garbage input. Depending on which port used it produces either clicks and static, or in the best case, highly distorted noise resembling my voice.

I've updated the realtek audio drivers, which didnt change anything. I uninstalled realtek drivers, no change.

When I updated the BIOS I got a slight, but noticeable improvement which is why I'm wondering if this may be a motherboard issue... The usb ports work fine for everything else.

The mic works on other computers. A friend mentioned how this is a common problem with certain motherboards and USB mics? Is this true? Is there anything else I cant try? Should I try for an RMA?
