Pretty much as the title says; for some reason I just can't log in properly, if I enter the correct password then the login form just refreshes and nothing else happens. I know it's the correct password though as entering a purposefully wrong password highlights the username and password in red and reports an error (incorrect username and/or password).

The only way I've found that I can log in is to use the forgot password utility, which automatically logs me in when I follow the link it sends. Once in though I can reset the password all I like, as soon as I sign out I go back to being unable to login again.

The issue occurs on Safari 6.1 for Mac, but not in FireFox, but I can't find anything to suggest why it wouldn't work on Safari. Any ideas?

Hrm, are you having your browser automatically save your password, or are you using an extension to manage your password profiles somehow? If so, I'd recommend deactivating those temporarily and manually logging in to see if that addresses the issue.

Also be sure you are entering in the username area your username, rather than the email you registered with. (This gets users sometimes). If you've changed your password using the password change option, you'll definitely want to change it to something that wasn't randomly generated by the system, too, once you've successfully logged back in.

Hope this helps!

I tried all that I think; the details I was entering was definitely correct, as if I intentionally entered something wrong I would get a perfectly normal error message. The login form was just refreshing with no message of any kind, and the login button greyed out. I tried entering the password manually, setting it to something dead simple, using whatever the password reset option gave me etc. etc.

I've found out that the problem seems to be specific to logging in via tomshardware.co.uk addresses; all these will demonstrate the issue in every browser I try (I think FireFox only worked before because I tied in the .com address manually). If I make sure to change the URL to .com first then everything works as expected, although the site seems to keep redirecting me back to .co.uk addresses afterwards. Must be something to do with how the site handles cross-domain cookies, I dunno.
So long as I make sure to enter the site via .com addresses, or change it when logging in, I should be fine, but it's a pretty annoying issue.
