Hello all,

I am looking for a 27" 1080p IPS monitor for use with a gaming PC as well as TV. I have been looking at the AOC I2757FH as my best bet so far, but I was wondering if anyone could give me any better suggestions based on what I need, or if the monitor I've picked is a solid bet.

Requirements:
- 1080p IPS 27"
- In built speakers
- 2x HDMI (maybe 1x HDMI, and a Displayport?)
- 5ms or less response time
- Good all around monitor for gaming and TV

Thanks in advance for any help :)

EDIT: Probably should've mentioned, I have a GTX 660 and a price range of less than about £250

If you currently are using or are planning on upgrading to an Nvidia graphics card (Kepler series or higher), I would recommend waiting for some of the new G-sync monitors to come out in the first half of next year. You should be able to find a fantastic 5ms IPS with G-sync for around 400.

Thanks for the quick response :). Yeah it's a bit expensive and with my PC having a GTX 660 it wouldn't cope with all those pixels. Also, probably should have mentioned price as less than about £250 as I really can't go much higher than that. Would you say that the AOC is a good buy?

Had a quick look at the specs, and yes it seems a decent monitor for the money, and meets your needs.( I've not had chance to see any reviews). I suggested Dell as I have had four, from 19 inch up to 24 inch (again Ultrasharp) and been really pleased with them, though I have tried others in between. This website I have always found useful for reviewing/choosing monitors:

Sorry for the late response but I was reading up about G-Sync. It is a great idea and one that would almost definitely help my GTX 660 but it will be too pricey for my budget and we won't get the diversity of monitors we have now until a few years down the line.

Thanks for the response though, really appreciated :)

I don't have a Sky box, but I looked here:

http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-HD-Picture-Sound/Connect-Sky-HD-box-to-a-PC-monitor/td-p/568862

and here:

http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-HD-SkyHD-Sky-3D/Watching-Sky-3D-on-a-Asus-VG278H-computer-monitor/td-p/1153652

One seems to say you can use the HDMI slot ( first one), but the second seems to be different if it is a 3D signal. Overall, the sites I looked at said yes, if you had HDMI.

Thanks so much for doing that, I feel lazy for not googling it now :D. So before I go ahead and buy, I don't suppose there's any other monitors I should be looking at?

Seems like a great monitor, so my question now is the AOC or the Asus?

I like the Asus speakers as I probably won't be getting external speakers, but it is a fair bit more expensive and I think I prefer the design of the AOC more. Tough choice!

What would you pick and why? It may help me make a decision :p

Thanks again :D

Know what you mean about choice.AOC got a good review here:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/aoc-i2757fh-viewsonic-vx2770smh-ah-ips,3385-10.html

and for the money, it is good, and if you like the design, that matters. For me, I would probably go for the Asus, but it does come down to personal choice, so go with what will suit you. Just before you replied I sent a link to another (less expensive but similar) Asus as well. Have a look.

In a comparison with the MX279H it isn't quite as good. Gonna open this as a different thread; feel free to comment on that as well.

Still a shootout between the AOC and the Asus :)

Thanks for the help!
