Hello, I am about to build a computer for BF4, Leauge of legends, cod and other high graphic games so I was wondering should I get the gtx 780 without an ssd or the r9 280x with an ssd? If you say the r9 280x you can also recommend other cards in the same price range that would be a better choice thanks :)

for gaming purposes SSD dont give any additional FPS. So if you want more gaming performance then the GTX780. If you want windows to load faster and applications then buy the SSD.

Yeah I don't think the SSD will do any big difference, If I could I would ofcourse have an SSD too but I don't think it's worth a few less seconds if even that of loading. This is still not my decision though.

I just completed a new build with the gtx 770 (very similar to the 280x) and an SSD (samsung 840 EVO) and BF4. I can play BF4 @1080p on high settings with no problems. I don't know how many frames, but it is running smooth and loads maps FAST.

When I played the beta of BF4 with my old rig using a gtx 660ti and a standard 7200rpm hard disk I had to play with settings on medium and it wasn't smooth at all. Plus each new session took a long time to load its map. With the SSD windows starts from full shut down to the desktop in 6 seconds. BF4 maps load in under 10 seconds and I think thats more my connection to the server not being so hot than anything.

Hope that helps.

Depending on the rest of your hardware you may be able to use a small 40 -60 gig SSD as a cache drive . That gives you almost all the performance of an SSD at a fraction of the cost .

Only works on intel motherboards , and only with some chipsets

SSD will help the map load faster if it is installed on SSD but it wont get you more FPS.

So basically if you can afford it then go for it - will help load faster), if not then gaming performance wont be affected.
