I am in the process of building my first gaming rig. With the Xbox One and PS4 coming out soon, I decided to just build a PC rather than spend money on a limited console! This has definitely been a learning experience! I just ordered all of my components besides the video card. Here is a list of what I have.

Gigabyte UD5H-Z87
4670k i5
Thermaltake 700 psu
Gskill Ripjaws 8 gig 2400 (2x4gb)
Kingston v300 120gig SSD
LG DVD Burner
Sentey Black Box v2.2

I am trying to decide between the 7970 and the r9 280x. I'm not that worried about the 3 free games with the 7970 because they aren't really games I would want to play anyway. I'm hoping that this sytem can run BF4 with ultra settings, and basically anything else I throw at it on ultra. Let me know what you guys think of this build. I think I chose pretty good components for my first build.
Once I overclock (when I get more comfortable with the process) I am going to get the Corsair H80.

The two cards are pretty much the same, so I'd go with whichever card is cheaper for you.

Yeah, that's what I've been seeing from all of the reviews on them. The r9 280x that I picked out runs at 1500, so that's probably what I'm going to go with. Do you think this build will handle games relatively easy on ultra?
