Hi guys. After spending a entire day researching/reading/learning. I've concluded my computer is semi-obsolete. I wanted to upgrade my computer to play the upcoming games like AC4. Any advice would be appreciated.

Specifications:

Motherboard: The MSI MS-7613 (Indio) motherboard
link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c01946060

CPU: Intel Core i7-860 @ 2.80GHz
LGA1156

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4850

My initial plan was to replace my GPU to AMD Radeon HD 7850 and see how far it takes me. I then realized my motherboard is PCIe v1 (correct me if im wrong) and wanted to change my motherboard too as the 7850 runs on PCIe v3 but realised they no longer have LGA1156 motherboards for sale in my country. Can i squeeze anymore out of my machine or is it time for a new one?

Thanks guys!

The 7850 will run on any PCI-E slot whether it be PCI-E 1, PCI-E 2 and PCI-E 3, with enough power to supply it. But a PCI-E Gen 1 will take away about 30% performance from the card. I would suggest selling the mobo and buying a new one with at least PCI-E Gen 2 for optimal performance.
