If the LED won't stay on, it sounds like it is underpowered. You may have bad USB ports, a bad filter, or not enough power (unlikely). Have you installed drivers for your USB ports?

Oh, and BTW, now it doesn't work on the old computer either

If it's no longer working on the other computer it sounds like it's dying (or dead at this point). Try to RMA to MadCatz and see if they can fix it for you.
