Well, this maybe the dumbest question one may have ever asked, but I wanted to ensure I got it right before spending my money.

The question is . Is the SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series 256Gb SSD
and the 128GB SSD are compatible with linux distros i.e. can we install Ubuntu, Linux Mint, fedora etc. Somewhere I came across a specification where it said its Windows8 compatible,I am kind of unsure, I wanted to check and confirm if it works fine with Linux before buying one.

Thank you for your help. Have a great day.

Yes, you will be able to install Linux on the Samsung 840 Pro SSD.

When you buy any new SSD or HDD it is a blank disk. You can then install any O/S on it (Windows, Linux, Apple OS X, etc.).

There should be a button under my 1st post you can click that says "Pick as the solution". If not, don't worry about it, no big deal, one of the site admins will close the thread.
