This is my first topic and post so HELLO !:)

Now to the topic, I was wondering what is the difference in motherboards used in pcs sold as a whole from HP, DELL etc and mobos bought normally as a single item from shop. Everytime I look at those brand PCs I see only what chipset those mobos are based on, not whole model name. So maybe someone with experience with those brands can tell me more about it ?

Thanks in advance

Usually OEM boards are not going to be the same as consumer boards. Some of the latest boards from HP have been made by Pegatron, which you cannot buy as a consumer. However, they can be replaced by consumer boards. If your OEM CPU was the A10-6800K for example, you could buy any number of FM2 boards that support the APU series.
