Hi! I'm planning to build a new PC soon. I haven't built one in about 8 years though so a bit rusty. I did a little bit of digging, but other than that just went by reviews for the items. Is there anything that stands out that won't be compatible? Or has the "Why are you getting this?" factor?

Thank you in advance!

The i7-2600K is about 2 generations behind. The current generation of Intel is Haswell. The slot is LGA1150 and the chipset is Z87.

The i7 would only really help you in some video editing and some rendering programs. If you are gaming or doing anything else, it would be better to go with the i5.

Not a huge fan of Raidmax power supplies; I'd pick a branded one from Antec (my favorite) Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, or PC Power and Cooling. There are other brands out there that are good as well; keep an eye out for 80-Plus ratings.

Thanks for the heads up. Per your info I have updated the CPU (and thus the MOBO), as well as the POWER SUPPLY.

Any other considerations?
